It's Alohas' recommendation that all driving students young and old and from overseas should undertake at least 2 hours of driving with a qualified RMS instructor. Please click here to access the RMS for Learners info. Learning to drive a vehicle can be one of the most harrowing things that most people will do in their life. When followed correctly, this system will ensure that all students from all walks of life will be safe and responsible drivers.

This is a good question! Some adults over 25 will take 8 to 14 hours of driving to get to a point where the instructor may assess that they are ready to undergo the RMS examination. Some adults are generally a little more anxious than younger students and generally approach new experiences with a little more trepidation than their younger counterparts. Overseas drivers who drive on the opposite side have to "acclimatise" to the left side and this takes time. At all times the assessment of a Service NSW accredited instructor should be taken into consideration before entering any traffic situations. Learner students under 25 must complete 120 hrs total hrs with min 20 hrs of night driving. If necessary you can do more night hours and less day hours. Young drivers under 25 should receive about 3 to 6 hours with a SERVICE NSW accredited instructor to bring them up to a standard where they can, (with supervision), venture safely into medium to heavy traffic..  Students must be at least 17 years of age and undergo hazard perception test before sitting for driving exam. There are lots of rules relating to driving in NSW if you are from overseas. ALOHA specialises in international license changeovers. One VERY IMPORTANT CHANGE to note is that after your 6 months license transfer period is over you CANNOT use your INTERNATIONAL LICENSE to drive OR PRACTISE on NSW Roads UNLESS YOU'RE GOING STRAIGHT TO YOUR DRIVING EXAM. Doing the DKT doesn't mean you have a learners license. If the 6 months have passed YOU MUST GET A LEARNER LICENSE TO PRACTISE FOR THE EXAM. High penalties and insurance problems apply if you're caught driving on an inapplicable license. It's ok to DRIVE WITH YOUR INTERNATIONAL LICENSE to practice for the driving exam if YOU'RE STILL INSIDE THE TRANSFER PERIOD.
